Rodent Hazards
Mice, rats, and other rodents that get into your home can cause a variety of issues of which you need to be aware of. They can spread harmful pathogens that will endanger you and your family if you are not careful. Rodents that get into your kitchen can taint your food before you spot the threat unless you remain vigilant. You likely know that rodents can get inside your walls and cause trouble, but they will even chew on your wires. You can’t ignore this behavior because it can put you at risk for a house fire.
Red Flags
Learning the signs and red flags of a rodent infestation will make it much easier for you to respond in the early stages, and doing so will save money and keep you and the people you love out of harm’s way. Turn your attention to your kitchen if you believe you have a rodent issue on your hands. Using a flashlight, check for holes in your cabinets and bags of food.
Rodent droppings are another sign for which you should look. Pay attention to scratching sounds at night, and rodents are likely near if you hear something unusual. Dogs will often act strangely when they detect rodents in your walls, and they might scratch at certain parts of your wall or bark at odd times, trying to alert you to the threat. Rodents will often shred paper and cardboard to create nests in your walls and attic, so be sure to check all parts of your home.
